Indian equities bounced back on Thursday snapping earlier losses. At 9.43 a., the Sensex was trading up 123.22 points or 0.41% at 30,424.86 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 25.80 points or 0.28% at 9,386.35 with 35 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were GAIL (India) (1.54%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.51%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.27%), ITC (1.22%), Infosys (1.10%), and Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.95%).
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.38%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.21%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.21%), Bharti Airtel (0.85%), Tata Motors (0.48%), and Cipla (0.16%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,026 advances against 566 declines.
Raymond topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 95.94 million. It was followed by Bharat Financial Inclusion (Rs. 92.62 million), Lupin (Rs. 90.09 million) and Reliance Capital (Rs. 63.35 million).
The volume chart was led by Visesh Infotecnics with trades of over 2.38 million shares. It was followed by Suzlon Energy (2.24 million), Jaiprakash Associates (1.16 million) and Reliance Communications (0.82 million).
