Indian equities continued to rally for the second day on Wednesday. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading at a new life time high. At 11.12 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 158.44 points or 0.53% at 30,101.68 with 19 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 45.80 points or 0.49% at 9,352.40 with 33 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were ITC (2.42%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.72%), Asian Paints (1.64%), Tata Steel (1.59%), GAIL (India) (1.41%), and Tata Motors (1.39%).
On the other hand, Cipla (1.15%), Infosys (0.91%), Wipro (0.58%), Reliance Industries (0.54%), NTPC (0.42%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.22%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,223 advances against 1,099 declines.
Allcargo Logistics topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 7,757.32 million. It was followed by Eicher Motors (Rs. 1,902.50 million), Wipro (Rs. 401.26 million) and Spicejet (Rs. 372.75 million).
The volume chart was led by Allcargo Logistics with trades of over 40.09 million shares. It was followed by Suzlon Energy (5.57 million), Spicejet (3.49 million) and Jaiprakash Associates (3.25 million).
