Indian equities traded lower on Friday. At 9.43 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 89.18 points or 0.25% at 35,787.04. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 42.85 points or 0.40% at 10,703.20.

Major losers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.60%), Hero Motocorp (1.93%), Tata Motors (1.66%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.52%) and Tata Steel (1.43%).

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (5.26%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (2.92%), NTPC (2.91%), Coal India (1.24%) and L & T (1.03%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
