Indian equities ended flat on Thursday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a decline of 25.36 points or 0.07% at 33,819.50, 22 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 14.75 or 0.14% at 10,382.70 with 40 components posting drop.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (2.19%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.05%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.85%), Cipla (1.65%), Tata Motors (1.59%), and Maruti Suzuki India (1.47%).
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (3.32%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (2.16%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (2.01%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.76%), Infosys (1.03%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.63%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 919 advances against 1,550 declines.
Indiabulls Real Estate topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 4,187.69 million. It was followed by JSW Steel (Rs. 459.07 million), Biocon (Rs. 424.87 million) and PC Jeweller (Rs. 405.65 million).
The volume chart was led by Southern Ispat and Energy with trades of over 55.24 million shares. It was followed by Indiabulls Real Estate (18.97 million), Unitech (5.54 million) and Suzlon Energy (5.13 million).
