Indian markets ended flat on Friday. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a rise of 33.29 points or 0.09% at 35,962.93, 16 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 13.90 or 0.13% at 10,805.45 with 27 components registering rise.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (5.32%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.58%), NTPC (1.95%), Infosys (1.31%), and Asian Paints (1.13%).
On the other hand, Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.95%), Wipro (1.67%), Larsen & Toubro (0.79%), Bajaj Auto (0.71%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.57%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,134 advances against 1,155 declines.
HDFC FMP - 1132 D - February 2016 (1) - Series 35 - Direct Plan - Growth topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 981.00 million. It was followed by I T C (Rs. 441.06 million), Reliance Industries (Rs. 427.42 million) and Reliance Infrastructure (Rs. 360.87 million).
The volume chart was led by HDFC FMP - 1132 D - February 2016 (1) - Series 35 - Direct Plan - Growth with trades of over 100.00 million shares. It was followed by Kotak FMP Series 131 - Regular Plan - Growth (15.00 million), DSP FMP - Series 241 - 36 M - Regular Plan - Growth (2.00 million) and Tata Steel BSL (1.73 million).
