Indian equities continued to gain for the fourth day on Tuesday. At 9.29 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 128.59 points or 0.39% at 33,488.49 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 33.10 points or 0.32% at 10,331.85 with 33 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Reliance Industries (1.91%), Tata Steel (1.61%), Cipla (1.35%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.13%), and Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.92%).
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.93%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.81%), Larsen & Toubro (0.72%), ITC (0.66%), Asian Paints (0.48%), and Coal India (0.40%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,063 advances against 366 declines.
Kajaria Ceramics topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 3,419.20 million. It was followed by Jet Airways (India) (Rs. 122.67 million), Jai Corp (Rs. 80.42 million) and Venky's (India) (Rs. 74.70 million).
The volume chart was led by Kajaria Ceramics with trades of over 4.65 million shares. It was followed by Vikas Ecotech (0.90 million), Jaiprakash Associates (0.79 million) and Jai Corp (0.55 million).
