WPI inflation eases to 0.9% in June'17

Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India stood at 0.90% in June 2017. WPI inflation was at 2.17% in the previous month and negative 0.09% during the corresponding month of the previous year.

Primary articles inflation was came at negative 3.86% in June as compared to 1.79% lower in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 2.27% in June compared to 2.55% in the last month.

Inflation for fuel and power segment came at 5.28% in June as compared to 11.69% for the previous month.

Food inflation came at negative 3.47% in June against 2.27% lower in the previous month. Vegetable inflation came at negative 21.16% in June against 18.51% lower in the last month.

Onion prices inflation came at negative 9.47% during the month compared with 12.86% lower in the last month. Potato inflation came at negative 47.32% in June compared with 44.36% lower in the last month.

Prices for non-food articles came at negative 5.15% lower in June compared with 0.91% lower in the last month.

Eggs, meat and fish inflation 1.92% in June compared with 1.02% lower in the previous month.

Inflation in milk was 4.12%, while cereals and wheat inflation stood 1.93% and 0.29% lower respectively. 

Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was -0.44% compared to a build up rate of 3.71% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
