Wholesale price inflation in India stood at 3.55% in July 2016. WPI inflation was at 1.62% in the previous month and negative 4% during the corresponding month of the previous year.
Primary articles inflation was came at 9.38% in July as compared to 5.50% in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 1.82% in July compared to 1.17% in the last month.
Inflation for fuel and power segment came at negative 1% in July as compared to negative 3.62% for the previous month.
Food inflation rose to 11.82% in July against 8.18% in the previous month. Vegetable inflation stood at 28.05% in July against negative 16.91% in the last month.
Onion prices inflation came at negative 36.29% during the month compared with (-) 28.60% lower in the last month. Potato inflation stood at 58.78% in July compared with 64.48% in the last month.
Prices for non-food articles increased 9.49% in July compared with 5.72% rise in the last month.
Eggs, meat and fish inflation rose 7.49% in July compared with 6.67% rise in the previous month.
Inflation in milk was 3.24%, while cereals and wheat inflation stood 7.03% and 6.90% respectively. Rice inflation stood at 4.08% from positive 3.37%.
Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 4.91% compared to a build up rate of 0.85% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
