Wipro said that administrative committee of the board of directors on Tuesday resolved to allot 46,519 equity shares of Rs 2 each pursuant to exercise of the stock options by the eligible employees under Restricted Stock Unit Plan 2004, Restricted Stock Unit Plan 2005 and Restricted Stock Unit Plan 2007.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Sep. 02, 2014, rising 2.92% compared with the Sensex's 6.04% rise. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 19.65% as against 9.46% rise in the Sensex.
Shares of the company gained Rs 12.2, or 2.18%, to trade at Rs 572.80. The total volume of shares traded was 40,414 at the BSE (11.00 a.m., Wednesday).
