Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India stood at 4.53% for the month of August, 2018 as compared to 5.09% for the previous month and 3.24% during the corresponding month of the previous year.

Primary articles inflation was came negative at 0.15% in August as compared to 1.73% in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 4.43% in August.

Inflation for fuel and power segment came at 17.73% in August as compared to 18.10% for the previous month.

Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 3.18% compared to a build up rate of 1.41% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
