Voltas, an engineering, air conditioning and refrigeration company, witnessed a rise in share price on Friday after it reported a steady growth in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 17.56% to Rs 1,180.40 million from Rs 1,004.10 million in the same quarter last year.
Total income for the quarter rose marginally 1.79% to Rs 15,202.60 million, compared with Rs 14,935.90 million for the prior year period.
Shares of Voltas are trading at Rs 309.45, up Rs 21.15, or 7.34% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 10:18 a.m.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 177.43% to 3,921,619 compared with 22-day average volume of 1,413,560.
