Suzlon's arm Senvion wins orders over 60 MW in United Kingdom

Senvion, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Suzlon Group, has signed four new orders totaling over 60 megawatts (MW) in the UK, including the first contract to be signed in the UK with developer RES.

Located near Granthouse in the Scottish Borders, Penmanshiel wind farm, developed by RES, will consist of 14 Senvion MM82 with a total rated output of 28.7 MW, producing enough electricity to power more than 20,000 homes. A 20 year service contract has been signed for the project.

Reapa Moss wind farm is the second contract for Senvion with InfraRed Capital Partners and is located east of Bacup in east Lancashire and will consist of three Senvion 3.4M104 and a 20 year ISP service contract has also been signed.

New Albion wind farm, located in Northamptonshire, is the third contract Senvion has signed with John Laing. Pre construction works have already begun and installation of the wind turbines is due to start in January in 2015 with the project scheduled to be fully operational by January 2016.

Watford Lodge wind farm located near Daventry, Northamptonshire, is the company's fourth contract with Broadview Energy and will consist of five Senvion MM92, with a total rated output of 10.25 MW.

Andreas Nauen, chief executive officer of Senvion SE said, "We are delighted to be signing a further turbine contracts in the UK, including our first contract with RES. This caps off what has been a highly successful year for Senvion in the UK, having signed contracts totaling nearly 250 MW since January."
 
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.86, or 6.73%, to trade at Rs 13.63. The total volume of shares traded was 3,652,004 at the BSE (2 p.m., Monday).
