Shreyas Shipping & Logistics, container feeder owning and operating company, has added two more container ships to its fleet. With the addition of two container ships, the fleet size of the company has increased to eight.
Shreyas Shipping & Logistics, chairman and managing director, S Ramakrishnan, said, ''We are proud to add 37597 GRT to Indian tonnage and also to its own existing GRT of 98696 to raise the total fleet strength to eight Indian flag container ships of 136293 GRT.''
"Shreyas plans to operate both newly acquired vessels on the India coast thereby plying all its eight container vessels, with a total capacity of 11,954 TEUS and 1,68,406 DWT, for coastal shipping, thus helping to raise container service across Indian coast to a new level and service the needs of domestic as well as Exim transhipment trade on the India coast," he added.
Shares of the company gained Rs 6.75, or 1.01%, to trade at Rs 676.25. The total volume of shares traded was 15,887 at the BSE (3.32 p.m., Thursday).
