Indian equities continued to rise for the third day on Thursday. At 9.47 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 104.46 points or 0.32% at 33,240.64 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 36.40 points or 0.36% at 10,191.65.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.79%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.79%), Reliance Industries (1.08%), Tata Motors (0.90%), I T C (0.81%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.57%).
On the other hand, State Bank Of India (0.77%), I C I C I Bank (0.74%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.66%), Wipro (0.60%), Bharti Airtel (0.48%), and Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.44%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 929 advances against 590 declines.
PC Jeweller topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 522.67 million. It was followed by Shriram Transport Finance Company (Rs. 443.15 million), Alkem Laboratories (Rs. 199.88 million) and Vakrangee (Rs. 98.95 million).
The volume chart was led by Reliance Communications with trades of over 2.55 million shares. It was followed by 3i Infotech (2.24 million), Uttam Value Steels (1.78 million) and PC Jeweller (1.46 million).
