Indian markets ended flat on Wednesday. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a rise of 2.96 points or 0.01% at 36,321.29, 13 components posting rise. while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat with a gain of 3.50 points or 0.03%, at 10,890.30.22 components registering rise.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Indusind Bank (2.02%), Infosys (1.38%), ICICI Bank (0.68%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (0.62%).
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel (1.38%), Asian Paints (1.21%), Hindustan Unilever (0.99%), Hero Motocorp (0.94%), ITC (0.88%), and Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.84%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,116 advances against 1,203 declines.
Yes Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 989.54 million. It was followed by H E G (Rs. 423.56 million), Infosys (Rs. 420.47 million) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises (Rs. 353.38 million).
The volume chart was led by Southern Ispat and Energy with trades of over 55.24 million shares. It was followed by Dish TV India (9.14 million), Yes Bank (4.75 million) and Ram Minerals and Chemicals (2.58 million).
