Sensex, Nifty end flat; Dr Reddy's, Bajaj Auto top gainers

Indian markets ended flat on Tuesday snapping earlier losses. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 35.11 or 0.10% at 34,651.24 with 21 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 20.00 or 0.19% at 10,536.70 with 30 components registering rise.

Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (6.30%), Bajaj Auto (3.86%), Tata Motors (3.78%), State Bank Of India (3.69%), Coal India (3.23%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.07%).

On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (1.40%), Asian Paints (1.27%), Axis Bank (1.27%), ITC (1.17%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.15%) and Adani Port (0.90%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.

Market breadth was negative with 1,321 advances against 1,047 declines.

Just Dial topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 357.51 million. It was followed by Jaiprakash Associates (Rs. 247.18 million), Avenue Supermarts (Rs. 239.19 million) and Hindalco Industries (Rs. 234.02 million).

The volume chart was led by Jaiprakash Associates with trades of over 15.69 million shares. It was followed by Hindalco Industries (1.00 million), Hindustan Construction Company (0.98 million) and Just Dial (0.83 million).
