Indian markets continued to drop for the second day on Monday. At 01.11 p.m, the Sensex was trading down 112.40 points or 0.32% at 35,046.15 with 23 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 24.70 points or 0.23% at 10,560.50 with 42 components falling.
Major losers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (4.30%), Hero Motocorp (2.04%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.65%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.59%), State Bank Of India (1.43%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.34%).
On the other hand, Tata Steel (2.04%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.31%), Cipla (1.30%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.24%), Infosys (1.07%), and Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.22%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 985 advances against 1,149 declines.
Tata Steel topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,341.68 million. It was followed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (Rs. 451.58 million), PC Jeweller (Rs. 446.68 million) and Titan Company (Rs. 439.35 million).
The volume chart was led by Infibeam Avenues with trades of over 5.45 million shares. It was followed by PC Jeweller (4.81 million), Reliance Communications (4.31 million) and Jaiprakash Associates (4.05 million).
