Indian equities continued to fall for the second day on Monday. At 9.40 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 99.53 points or 0.29% at 33,911.23 with 25 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 30.30 points or 0.29% at 10,422.00 with 41 components falling.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Tata Steel (2.67%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.24%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.04%), Axis Bank (1.03%), Cipla (1.02%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.95%).
On the other hand, ICICI Bank (0.62%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.18%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.09%), ITC (0.08%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.04%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 660 advances against 966 declines.
Alstone Textiles (India) topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by Indusind Bank (Rs. 298.26 million), Motherson Sumi Systems (Rs. 236.71 million) and U P L (Rs. 184.45 million).
The volume chart was led by Vipul with trades of over 1.80 million shares. It was followed by Punjab National Bank (1.16 million), Motherson Sumi Systems (0.73 million) and Sanwaria Consumer (0.72 million).
