Reliance Power, Anil Ambani led company engaged in development and operation of power projects, today reported a rise of 2.99% in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2.76 billion as compared to Rs 2.69 billion in the same period last year.
 
Analysts, on average, expected Reliance Power to report a profit of Rs 2.51 billion on sales of Rs 16.34 billion.
 
Total income for the quarter increased 22.22% to Rs 15.84 billion from Rs 12.96 billion in the year ago period.

Shares of the company declined Rs 0.1, or 0.19%, to settle at Rs 53.55. The total volume of shares traded was 615,265 at the BSE (Tuesday).
