Power Grid Corporation of India, leading power transmission company in India, witnessed a rise in share price on Thursday after it announced a steady growth in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2014.
During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 17.93% to Rs 12,289.10 million from Rs 10,420.40 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 18.16% to Rs 43,536.20 million, compared with Rs 36,846 million for the prior year period.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 147.75, up Rs 1.95, or 1.34% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 9:54 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 151.35 and low of Rs 147.60. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 146,946.
