Power Grid Corporation of India, leading power transmission company in India, witnessed a fall in share price on Wednesday after it announced a decline in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 3.06% to Rs 12,012.70 million from Rs 12,392 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose marginally 4.48% to Rs 41,785.40 million, compared with Rs 39,995 million for the prior year period.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 144.30, down Rs 3.15, or 2.14% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 10:16 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 148 and low of Rs 144. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 44,990.
