PC Jeweller engaged in manufacture, retail and export of jewellery, proposes to introduce ''Smart Jewellery'' for the first time in India. The company has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for technology, license and services agreement with Martian Watches, a California based developer of award winning smart watches, to develop gold and studded ''Smart Jewellery'' which features innovative and interchangeable design modules.

These items will be utilizing Martian's Smart jewellery device and App ecosystem and will be a unique addition to the field of wearable technology. Martian Watches is one of US based leading smart watch manufacturers with a technology experience of over 25 years.

PC Jeweller expects to display ''Smart Jewellery'' in the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2016 at Las Vegas. This "Smart jewellery" is expected to find flavor with technology conscious women who also want to make a fashion statement.

Shares of the company gained Rs 5.95, or 1.54%, to trade at Rs 392.45. The total volume of shares traded was 3,672 at the BSE (9.21 a.m., Monday).
