Orient Cement commissions new plant in Karnataka

Orient Cement announced that the company has commissioned and started commercial production at its new greenfield integrated cement plant from Sept. 26, 2015. The new project, located near Chittapur, District Gulbarga, Karnataka has an installed capacity of 3.0 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

With the commissioning of this new unit, the total installed capacity of Orient Cement has increased to 8 MTPA.

The first consignment of cement from the new plant has been dispatched on Sept. 26, 2015.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2.40, or 1.53%, to trade at Rs 159. The total volume of shares traded was 15,853 at the BSE (12.09 p.m., Monday).
