NTPC, the country's largest power producer, announced that the company has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company (APEPDCL) and Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company (APSPDCL) for procurement of power to be generated from the 250 MW solar power plant, the first phase of the 1,000 MW ultra solar power project being set up by NTPC in Anatapur District in Andhra Pradesh.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Apr. 24, 2015, falling 6.14% compared with the Sensex's 2.57% decline. It outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 3.58% as against 6.29% fall in the Sensex.
Shares of the company gained Rs 1.9, or 1.27%, to trade at Rs 152.05. The total volume of shares traded was 46,523 at the BSE (10.43 a.m., Monday).
