NTPC, the country's largest power producer, witnessed a rise in share price on Monday after it  announced that the company has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company (APEPDCL) and Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company (APSPDCL) for procurement of power to be generated from the 250 MW solar power plant, the first phase of the 1,000 MW ultra solar power project being set up by NTPC in Anatapur District in Andhra Pradesh.

Shares of the company are trading at Rs 152.20, up Rs 2.05, or 1.37% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday at 11:49 a.m.

The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 153.30 and low of Rs 150. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 70,517.
