NMDC, the single largest producer of iron ore in the country, has achieved production and sales of iron ore of 22.5 million tons and 22.83 million tons respectively (provisional) upto December 2014.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Jan. 05, 2015, falling 13.89% compared with the Sensex's 2.16% decline. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 20.77% as against 4.80% rise in the Sensex.

Shares of the company declined Rs 4.9, or 3.35%, to trade at Rs 141.45. The total volume of shares traded was 147,126 at the BSE (11.37 a.m., Tuesday).
