NMDC, the single largest producer of iron ore in the country, announced that the government of India has appointed P.K.Satpathy, general manager, NMDC as director (production) on the board of NMDC for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

In terms of the above government order, P.K. Satpathy has assumed charge of the post of director (production) of NMDC on Dec. 13, 2014.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.4, or 0.97%, to trade at Rs 143.45. The total volume of shares traded was 47,113 at the BSE (1.32 p.m., Friday).
