National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) has handed over a dividend cheque of Rs.594 million to the Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu today. NBCC paid a dividend of Rs.5.50 a share.
Venkaiah Naidu expressed his happiness over NBCC paying dividend to the Government of India for the ninth consecutive year.
The minister said that, the country is moving towards urban transformation with the launch of major schemes such as Smart Cities Mission, AMRUT and Housing for All etc, which gives a fillip to the construction industry in the country.
NBCC should use the opportunity and scale newer heights in the years to come, the Minister added.
Speaking on the occasion, NBCC chairman, Anoop Kumar Mittal said, "The company's financial performance has been impressive in the year 2014-15 as compared to the previous year resulting in an increase in dividend from Rs.5 to Rs.5.50 a share, a 10% increase over the previous year. The sum will be remitted through RTGS on Oct.10, 2015 for the other stakeholders."
Shares of the company gained Rs 3.2, or 0.35%, to settle at Rs 926.30. The total volume of shares traded was 51,997 at the BSE (Wednesday).
