Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the USD 16.9 billion Mahindra Group, today announced a fall of 37% in tractor sales for September 2015. The company sold 18,087 units of tractor during September 2015, as against 28,739 units in the same period last year.

Domestic sales in September 2015 stood at 17,052 units, as against 27,321 units during September 2014, registering a fall of 38%. Exports for September 2015 declined 27% to 1,035 units as against 1,418 units during September 2014.

Commenting on the sales performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, president and chief executive - farm equipment and two wheeler division, Mahindra & Mahindra said, 'We have sold 17,052 tractors in the domestic market during September 2015. With the rainfall improving towards the later part of the month, we are looking forward to the upcoming festive season to bring in positive sentiments in the marketplace. In  export markets we sold 1,035 tractors during September 2015.''

Shares of the company declined Rs 13.15, or 1.04%, to settle at Rs 1,247.55. The total volume of shares traded was 49,627 at the BSE (Thursday).
