Lupin, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in India, today announced the appointment of Thierry Volle as President of Europe, Middle-East & Africa (EMEA).
Thierry will be responsible for the company's growth and development in Europe, Russia & CIS, and Middle-east and African markets, Lupin said. He will be based at Lupin's European headquarters in Zug, Switzerland.
Volle joins Lupin from Vifor Pharma where he was the head of EU & International business operations. Prior to that, he was at Wyeth.
Commenting on the appointment Vinita Gupta, chief executive officer, Lupin said, ''His rich knowledge and experience in developing and growing businesses, specifically specialty pharmaceuticals in EMEA, will help us with our strategic expansion plans for these markets.''
Shares of the company declined Rs 21.5, or 1.16%, to settle at Rs 1,837.85. The total volume of shares traded was 77,648 at the BSE (Thursday).
