Larsen & Toubro (L&T) shares witnessed a sharp gain on Friday after it has secured a turnkey order worth Rs 51 billion for setting up a 2x660 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project at Shree Singaji TPP (Stage-II) on a complete Engineering-Procurement-Construction basis from the state utility MP Power Generating Company (MPPGCL).
The project order covers design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of two coal-fired thermal units of 660 MW each with supercritical parameters. The project is located near village Dongalia in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 1,608.45, up Rs 19.45, or 1.22% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 10:42 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 1,620.90 and low of Rs 1,583. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 61,378.
