Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an engineering and construction conglomerate, announced that L&T Construction has bagged new orders worth Rs 33.43 billion across various business segments in March 2015.
In transportation infrastructure business, the company has bagged four major EPC orders worth Rs 26.5 billion from the National Highways Authority of India for the construction of Rewa-Katni-Jabalpur (Package 1, 2 & 4) and Jabalpur Lakhnadon Projects in Madhya Pradesh against stiff domestic competition.
These projects involve construction of total 287 km of four lane dual carriage way,primarily with rigid pavement, 7 flyovers, 4 railway over bridges (ROB), 5 major bridges and 86 minor bridges. While Rewa-Katni-Jabalpur packages will be in 24 months, Jabalpur-Lakhnadon project will take about 30 months for completion.
Also in power transmission and distribution business, it has received Rs 2.71 billion order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the engineering, procurement and construction of 765 kV double circuit transmission line between Wardha and Hyderabad.
Additional orders worth Rs 4.22 billion have also been received from various ongoing jobs of buildings & factories, power transmission & distribution and water & renewable energy businesses.
Shares of the company gained Rs 9.95, or 0.58%, to trade at Rs 1,728.95. The total volume of shares traded was 55,860 at the BSE (12.43 p.m., Wednesday).
