The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won orders worth Rs 40.06 billion across various business segments in the month of December'14 in both the domestic and international markets.

The transportation infrastructure business has secured orders worth Rs 20.53 billion. Additional orders worth Rs 4.40 billion have been also received from ongoing domestic and international projects.

The water & renewable energy business has secured new orders worth Rs 7.29 billion. The power transmission & distribution has secured new orders worth Rs 6.68 billion. The heavy civil infrastructure businesses has secured new orders worth Rs 2.28 billion.

Shares of the company gained Rs 65.75, or 4.39%, to trade at Rs 1,562.25. The total volume of shares traded was 76,999 at the BSE (10.53 a.m., Monday).
