LIC Hsg Fin Q4 profit up 2.2%

LIC Housing Finance, a premier housing finance company in India, on Saturday  reported a growth of 2.21% for fourth quarter earnings. It earned profit of Rs 3.78 billion for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2015, compared with Rs 3.70 billion in the same quarter previous year.

Quarterly revenues totaled at Rs 28.60 billion, an increase of 15.44% over Rs 24.77 billion in the same period a year ago.

The company recorded a strong growth in Loan disbursements for Q4 FY15. Total disbursements grew at 23% to Rs 99.38 billion Individual Loan disbursements was Rs 95.50 billion, a growth of 24% as compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Income from operations grew 16% from Rs 24.43 billion to Rs 28.32 billion.

Net Interest Income was Rs 6.50 billion, registering a growth of 22% over the same period last year.

Profit before Tax for the quarter was Rs 5.75 billion a growth of 10% over the same period in the previous year.

Net profit after tax before adjustment of deferred tax liability on special reserves stood at Rs 4.08 billion showing a growth of 10% when compared to the corresponding quarter of the last year.

LIC Housing Finance, managing director & CEO, Sunita Sharma said, ''We are encouraged by the strong growth in disbursements, which was consistent throughout the year and improving in the fourth quarter. Significant improvement in Asset quality is another area of success during the year. The fourth quarter also witnessed margin improvement. We are confident of a very good FY 2016.''

Shares of the company gained Rs 5.3, or 1.21%, to trade at Rs 442.85. The total volume of shares traded was 159,163 at the BSE (10.53 a.m., Monday).
