JSW Energy has posted a rise of 54.41% in net profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2015, led by Rs 1.50 billion compensation received by Himachal Baspa Power Company (HBPCL) that became 100 percent subsidiary of the company from September 8. During the quarter, the company posted a net profit of Rs. 4.92 billion as compared to Rs. 3.19 billion for the corresponding quarter last year.
Total Income increased by 12.44% to Rs. 25.31 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2015 from Rs. 22.51 million in the same quarter a year ago.
Operating profit moved up by 17% to Rs 9.98 billion during the quarter, driven by lower fuel cost and generation from hydro assets.
EPS of the company stood at Rs 3 during the current quarter from Rs 1.94 in the same period last year.
Shares of the company declined Rs 3.3, or 3.62%, to settle at Rs 87.85. The total volume of shares traded was 1,235,368 at the BSE (Wednesday).
