Jain Irrigation Systems, a leading manufacturer of irrigation systems, plastic sheets and pipes and fittings, witnessed a sharp rise in share price on Monday after it announced a substantial rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2015.
During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 30.78% to Rs 985.30 million from Rs 753.40 million in the same quarter previous year.
Total income for the quarter rose 11.41% to Rs 20,425.30 million, compared with Rs 18,333 million for the prior year period.
Shares of Jain Irrigation Systems are trading at Rs 66.30, up Rs 9.5, or 16.73% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday at 11:34 a.m.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 421.70% to 17,006,645 compared with 22-day average volume of 3,259,866.
