Govt asks IL&FS TN's associate WCBTRL to exempt cars and ST buses from toll payment

Warora Chandrapur Ballarpur Toll Road (WCBTRL), an associate of IL&FS Transportation Networks, with an equity stake of 35%, has received directions from the Government of Maharashtra to exempt light motor vehicles and MSRTC buses from paying toll passing through the road stretch. The shortfall of toll revenue due to the above notification will be compensated by the Government of Maharashtra in due course, the company said.

Further the revenues of WCBTRL are accounted through ''Associate method'' due to minority stake held by the company in the WCBTRL. The consolidated financial statements of the cmpany do not include line by line profit & loss numbers of WCBTRL but rather include only profit or loss pertaining to the company's shareholding in WCBTRL.

The above referred notification will not have any impact on the consolidated financial results of the company, it said.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.8, or 1.21%, to trade at Rs 146.90. The total volume of shares traded was 10,660 at the BSE (9.57 a.m., Tuesday).
