Gammon India, construction and engineering company, witnessed a sharp rise in share price on Monday after the company received an engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) project worth Rs 17.09 billion from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The company has secured the project for widening of Udhampur to Ramban section of NH 1A in Jammu & Kashmir. The contract has been awarded under phase II of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP).
The scope of work involves ''four-laning of Udhampur to Ramban section of NH 1 A from Km 67 to 130 Km 151,'' the company said.
Shares of Gammon India are trading at Rs 12.35, up Rs 1.04, or 9.20% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday at 11:02 a.m.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 404.64% to 2,032,890 compared with 22-day average volume of 402,839.
