Domestic passenger car sales increased 6.06% to 163,093 units in August 2015, from 153,781 units in the same month of 2014, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

The sales of commercial vehicles saw increase of 7.58% to 52,198 units in August, said SIAM.

On the othe hand, total two-wheeler sales declined 2.98% to 13,05,350 units in August, from 13,45,506 units in the same month of 2014.

Sales of motorcycles fell by 9.59% to 8,23,053 units last month from 9,10,312 units a year ago.
