Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries announced that the company has acquired a sugar plant situated at Sangli, Maharashtra having a cane crushing capacity of 1750 TCD (tons crushed per day) at a consideration of Rs 243 million from Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank.
The plant is not operational for the last 7 years, the starting of operations of the plant would be determined after examining the condition of the plant on taking possession.
The company currently has total cane crushing capacity of 27300 TCD at its existing plants in Uttar Pradesh and Kohlapur, Maharashtra.
Shares of the company declined Rs 0.25, or 1.32%, to settle at Rs 18.70. The total volume of shares traded was 27,560 at the BSE (Wednesday).
