India's leading consumer products maker Dabur India today joined Municipal Corporation Of Delhi's Bal Swachh Mission (MCD) to roll out a mega cleanliness and sanitation drive 'Bal Swachh Mission' in government schools across the National Capital.

Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Shokeen said, ''A clean environment and germ-free toilet is the basic hygiene need of every human being to lead a healthy life and to safeguard themselves from common diseases. With a mission to make the entire country clean, our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji had launched a mass movement called the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan'. Moving forward on this pledge, we are rolling out a week-long cleanliness campaign in government schools. We are also educating kids to follow the tenets of cleanliness in their everyday lives.''

Under this initiative, Sanifresh worked towards providing clean classrooms, toilets, surroundings and play area in Government Schools. "Lack of hygienic sanitation facilities in schools has been a major cause of embarrassment for the girl students. As a consequence, they leave school on average at an earlier age than their male contemporaries. Sanifresh is committed to improve the hygienic sanitation facilities for girls at schools as a responsible corporate citizen of the country. We are embarking on this mission today with the launch of our Sanifresh Bal Swachh Mission in Delhi," Dabur India, head of marketing-Home Care, Ajay Motwani said.

Sanifresh has been working towards providing clean and Germ-free public toilets in schools across the country. Earlier this year, Sanifresh had joined hands with Sulabh International and run a massive awareness-building campaign and special cleanliness drive across Sulabh public toilets.

''At Dabur, we believe that an organization’s true worth lies beyond its business, and is best reflected by the service it renders to the community and the society. Businesses have a responsibility to subserve larger societal goals as they have the ability to contribute significantly and impactfully to sustainable and inclusive development. This programme is another step forward in this direction,'' Motwani said.

Shares of the company declined Rs 0, or 0%, to trade at Rs 231.80. The total volume of shares traded was 43,426 at the BSE (12.42 p.m., Friday).
