CPI inflation eases to 5.07% in January'18

Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), gained to 5.07% in January from 5.21% in the previous month. In January 2017, CPI inflation was at 3.17%.
Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) 4.70% from 4.96% in the previous month. In January 2017, CFPI inflation was at 0.61%.

Food and beverages price inflation stood at 4.58%, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up 7.58%.

Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 4.63% in prices.

Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 7.73%. Household goods and services inflation was 4.25%.

Health segment inflation was 4.88%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 1.97%.
