Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), eased to 4.44% in February from 5.07% in the previous month. In February 2017, CPI inflation was at 3.65%. Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) 3.26% from 4.70% in the previous month. In February 2017, CFPI inflation was at 2.01%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 3.38%, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up 7.34%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 5.00% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 6.80%. Household goods and services inflation was 4.16%.
Health segment inflation was 4.95%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 2.39%.
