Chowgule Steamships said the company has decided to sell its Maratha Providence vessel. It has received a proposal for the same for Rs 2.52 billion.

"The dry bulk segment in the shipping industry is going through a lean phase for the last several months and has resulted in a drop in earnings. Thus the deployment of the vessel is not a viable option for the company resulting in the decision to sell it," the company said.
