CG names Shantanu Khosla as head of consumer business

Crompton Greaves (CG), an Avantha Group Company, has appointed Shantanu Khosla as executive vice president and managing director designate of the consumer business of CG.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, he joined as a Management Trainee in Richardson Hindustan that was rechristened as Procter & Gamble India in 1985. Shantanu has served there ever since, in multiple roles.

Shantanu brings with him rich experience of managing consumer business across markets, product categories and functions.

''I am honoured to have been asked to take on this role and lead this opportunity during this important time of transformation. I am excited about the possibilities that lie in our future and look forward to expanding the strong foundation of Crompton,'' said Shantanu Khosla on assuming office.

Avantha Group Company CG's CEO and managing director Laurent Demortier said, ''We are thrilled on having Shantanu on board. His wealth of management, leadership expertise and proven track record in the Consumer space will lead Crompton to the next level of growth.''

Shares of the company gained Rs 6.8, or 4.11%, to trade at Rs 172.30. The total volume of shares traded was 258,910 at the BSE (2.52 p.m., Monday).
