Bajaj Auto, one of the leading 2 and 3 wheeler makers, today announced that the company has contributed Rs 200 million for the PM national relief fund. This contribution is made to provide relief efforts in the flood ravaged areas in J&K.
Rahul Bajaj, chairman of the company said, "The state has seen unforeseen disaster and damage to property and infrastructure worth crores of rupees. We feel the grief of our fellow citizen and they need our help at this critical time to come out of this tragedy and to rebuild their lives. Our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an appeal to all Indians to donate to the PM’s National Relief Fund for the affected people in the region. We would like to join the government’s effort to help in relief operations."
Shares of the company gained Rs 4.65, or 0.19%, to settle at Rs 2,415. The total volume of shares traded was 20,651 at the BSE (Monday).
