Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector lenders, on Wednesday reported growth of 18.48% in its net profit for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2015. The bank earned a profit of Rs 21.8 billion for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2014.
The bank's quarterly income totalled at Rs 124 billion, an increase of 21.57% over Rs 102 billion in the same period a year ago.
The bank has made provision of Rs 7.1 billion, which was higher by 40.59% from prior year period.
In percentage term, net NPAs were at 0.44% at the end of the quarter higher than 0.40% from last year period.
Capital adequacy ratio (CAR) of the bank under Basel III was at 15.09% as on Mar. 31, 2015.
Shares of the company gained Rs 17.65, or 3.3%, to settle at Rs 552.90. The total volume of shares traded was 1,193,519 at the BSE (Wednesday).
