AstraZeneca Pharma India, an integrated biopharmaceutical company, witnessed a sharp rise in share price on Thursday after it announced the launch of FORXIGA (dapaglifozin), a breakthrough treatment for Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Shares of the company are trading at Rs 1,045, up Rs 88.55, or 9.26% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 9:57 a.m.

Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 14.46% to 476,864 compared with 22-day average volume of 557,484.
