Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 40% in sales in May 2015 to 9,294 units as against 6,632 units sold in the same period of last year. The company experienced a rise of 41% in its M&HCV products segment to 6,892 units in May.
The company's large commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a rise of 37% to 2,402 units in May.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.85, or 1.19%, to trade at Rs 72.30. The total volume of shares traded was 1,004,585 at the BSE (2.13 p.m., Monday).
