Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 23% in sales in October 2014 to 8,375 units as against 6,803 units sold in the same period of last year. The company experienced a rise of 43% in its M&HCV products segment to 5,838 units in October.
The company's large commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a fall of 6% to 2,537 units in October. Sales for April-October 2014 went up 4% over previous year period to 53,694 units.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.15, or 0.32%, to trade at Rs 46.50. The total volume of shares traded was 2,734,668 at the BSE (2.58 p.m., Monday).
